It is not advised to purchase non-refundable tickets, as you may not receive your visa as scheduled. In some instances, it may take up to two weeks or longer for processing. To eliminate any delays or rejection with your visa application, please ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and that all requested documentation i.e. driver's license are valid. The approval of all visas is at the discretion of Indian Mission. If the application is rejected by the Indian Mission, the fees are non-refundable.

Passport Requirements: 
Please submit your valid and signed passport with a minimum validity of greater than six months and two blank visa pages that MUST be adjacent to each other. If additional pages are needed or if your passport needs to be renewed, please follow this link:

Photograph Requirements: 
One most recent passport-style photograph (2x2) with light background. Please make sure not to wear eyewear (glasses) in photograph. Homemade photos are not acceptable.
Documents Required: 
- A copy of valid driver's license, state-issued ID, or major utility bill (water, gas, electricity) (Address must match permanent address on application, and must also not contain a P.O. Box)

- A business letter from the employer in U.S. on the company's letterhead addressed to the consulate General of India in United States. The letter must be formatted in accordance to standards indicated by the Embassy of India, as such: Example Letter from Company in U.S.

- A signed business letter of invitation from a sponsoring company (signed and stamped with corporate seal) in India. The letter must be formatted in accordance to standards indicated by the Embassy of India, as such: Example Business Letter from Sponsor Company
